Rube

Rube don't know; Rube's weird.

Santa time

Dad took Thea to Crown Center on a Saturday afternoon to see Santa. Dad needs his head examined. Thea was very good however and braved the two hour line to see Santa. Afterwards Thea enjoyed taking some test drives.

Birthday Carriage Ride

We promised Thea that for her birthday we would take her on a carriage ride on the Plaza. We all bundled up and braved the cold so that Thea could be a princess for the evening.

Hat trick!!! Thea turns 3!!!

It's again hard to believe that it's been another year and our little girl is already three. Thea celebrated with her cousins Carter and Will, Aunt Beth and Uncle Jeffro, both Grandma and Grandpa Young and Melvin, Great-Grandma and Grandpa Fahring, and of course Lulu and the Rube.

Maximum Relaxation Deeks

Takin her easy at the Hotel.

Aquarium

On Friday we decided it would be a good idea to brave the crowds and take Deeks to the Aquarium. Thea was particularly fond of the penguins and had to be forced away from the exhibit. A meltdown was diverted with a trip to the gift shop.

Chicago Turk

Ivy, Thea, Stinky Bear (a.k.a. Lulu) and I as well as Grandma and Grandpa Melvin trekked up to Chicago for Thanksgiving to visit Matt and Tabitha. Thea was such a good girl over the weekend and had a lot of fun catching up with "Mutt and Sasha".

Fairy Princess

We took a drive up to the Northland so that Thea could visit The Fairy Princess at Zona Rosa's tree lighting ceremony. Apparently The Fairy Princess was once a holiday staple in Kansas City for many decades. Having waited in line for several hours so that Deeks could meet her leads us to believe that the good people at Zona Rosa are on to something. Santa's got some competition I guess.

Sleepover

Deeks had a sleepover with all of her "friends" on the couch.

Fall fun

Thea did her best to help both Dad and Grandpa rake the piles of leaves this last weekend. Although Deeks showed proficiency with the rake, she appears to be better suited for burrowing though the leaf piles.

Witchy-Poo

In preparation for some hardcore trick or treating, Thea showed off her Halloween duds. The costume was purchased months ago per Deek's request. It seems though that in the weeks to follow she questioned her choice of going as a witch. Apparently Thea now required to go either as Cinderella, Snow White, or just a princess in general. Ivy and I convinced her after watching the Wizard of Oz half a dozen times that going as a "Good Witch" is much cooler these days. Thea concurred, a meltdown was avoided, and balance was once again brought to the universe.

Cougars unleashed

Ivy and Co. went to Larryville for the KU/OU game a few weekends ago. Mo and Sue were in town for the reunion and it appears everyone had a good time despite the Hawks not showing up...again.

Return of the Deeks

It's been a while since out last post so I guess we've got some catching up to do. Since we left many transitions have occurred both with Thea and with Ivy and myself. Thea has a new teacher at her school and is really coming into her own and becoming more and more of a little person each and every day. Ivy has a new job that everyone is very excited about. The different schedule or should I say much more structured schedule has been something to get used to but it's getting easier every day. In consideration of time and redundancy I'll try to recap the last couple of months with a few groups of pics....

Deeks vs. nap...nap wins.
